The other couple survived a 5 year long distance relationship between Washington D.C. and Rhode Island – Times Square was their meeting place in between for those years. The ceremonies will be conducted for the 7th year in a row by licensed NYS officiant and Times Square Alliance Vice President of Human Resources Hollis Kam.

At 11:30am, 12:30pm, and 1:00pm, lucky lovers will be surprised with a Valentine’s Day gift that they – and everyone else in Times Square – won’t see coming and won’t soon forget: a surprise marriage proposal on Times Square’s iconic American Eagle screen, including a proposal from a woman who wants to turn the tables on tradition and propose to her man.

Beginning at 6:00pm, hundreds of couples will celebrate their love and romance during a large vow renewal ceremony on the iconic Red Steps in Times Square. The ceremony is free and open to people of all ages, genders, religions, races, and backgrounds, and will be preceded by a performance from Broadway’s Tony Award-winning Best Musical Dear Evan Hansen and will conclude by 6:30pm. With the time-honored phrase, Let’s Have a Parade™, the spectacle begins for more than 3.5 million spectators in New York City and more than 50 million television viewers nationwide.

“This year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will redefine spectacle with a jaw-dropping mix of must-see entertainment for millions of spectators,” said Susan Tercero, executive producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. “Featuring an amazing line-up of high flying balloons, dazzling animated floats, world-class marching bands and performance groups, the nation’s top music artists, and of course, the one-and-only Santa Claus, the Macy’s Parade will once again herald the arrival of the holiday season.”

Since November of 1924, the Macy’s Parade has enthralled the nation and become synonymous with the start of the holiday season. For the 92nd edition, the line-up will feature 16 giant character balloons; 43 novelty balloons, heritage balloons, balloonicles, balloonheads and trycaloons; 26 floats; 1,200 cheerleaders and dancers; more than 1,000 clowns; and 12 marching bands.

STARS ON PARADE

The star power along the Parade route and in homes across the country will feature some of the nation’s most exciting performers. INFLATABLE ICONS

Since 1927, the Parade’s signature balloons have featured some of the world’s most beloved characters. Over time, the inflatables have morphed from air-filled characters carried on sticks to high-flying giants, balloonheads and even hybrid inflatables with vehicles inside.

Joining the giant character balloon line-up this year will be the famed Saiyan warrior Goku from “Dragon Ball Super: Broly.”

The elf stars of Netflix’s “The Christmas Chronicles”– Fleck, Bjorn, Jojo and Hugg, will also debut, taking to the skies ahead of the one-and-only Santa Claus. On the ground, the streets of New York City will magically transform into the world’s largest bowling lane for the Go Bowling balloonicles (hybrid balloons and vehicles), as the bowling ball, bowling pins and bowling shoe cars try for strikes or perhaps a turkey, along the Parade route.

Macy’s Blue Sky Gallery series will return to the sky this year for the seventh edition with Little Cloud, the iconic creation of art collaborative FriendsWithYou™. Macy’s Blue Sky Gallery series invites contemporary artists to recreate their work as Parade balloons. Artists Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III will join Little Cloud with a stunning rainbow inflatable and two raindrops in this year’s Parade, creating an artistic expression of joy and love. Past works in the series have included balloons from famed artists Tom Otterness, Jeff Koons, Keith Haring, Takashi Murakami, Tim Burton and KAWS.

Rounding out the new inflatable cast will be Sinclair Oil’s Baby Dino balloonicles, Universal Orlando Resort’s™ The Nutcracker and the shining star of Macy’s Christmas celebrations, Sunny the Snowpal.

Gliding down Manhattan, the Parade’s signature floats will transport spectators to worlds of wonder through creative design and skillful construction. Conceived and crafted by the incredible artisans of Macy’s Parade Studio which include carpenters, engineers, electricians, painters, animators, sculptors, metal fabricators, scenic and costume designers, this year’s line-up of floats sets an unparalleled stage for entertainment. Macy’s Parade floats are often three stories tall and several lanes of traffic wide, but must collapse to no more than 12 ½-feet tall and 8-feet wide in order to travel safely from the New Jersey home of the Parade Studio, to the Manhattan starting line via the Lincoln Tunnel each Thanksgiving eve.

STRIKE UP THE BAND AND DANCE

Marching bands are a longtime fan favorite element. In 2018, 12 of the nation’s finest marching bands will ignite coast-to-coast excitement and hometown pride as they step off and perform on the streets of the Big Apple. This year’s bands include Cicero-North Syracuse High School Northstars Marching Band (Cicero, New York), Grants Pass High School Marching Band and Color Guard (Grants Pass, Oregon), Homewood Patriot Band (Homewood, Alabama), James Madison University Royal Dukes (Harrisonburg, Virginia), Keller High School Marching Band (Keller, Texas), Lafayette High School Mighty Lion Marching Band (Lafayette, Louisiana), The Ohio State University Marching Band (Columbus, Ohio), Park Vista High School Marching Band (Lake Worth, Florida), Riverside City College Marching Tigers (Riverside, California), Woodland High School Wildcat Marching Band (Cartersville, Georgia), Macy’s Great American Marching Band (United States) and the NYPD Marching Band (New York, NY).

Rounding out the live entertainment are the Parade’s signature large performance groups. Joining the line-up this year are the teen dancers and cheerleaders of Spirit of America Dance Stars and Spirit of America Cheer. Days before Thanksgiving, they will gather for the first time in New York City to rehearse their numbers as a group, ahead of their once-in-a-lifetime national spotlight. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the nation’s biggest and most anticipated holiday celebration. Broadcast nationally on NBC, with millions of families nationwide tuning in to watch the excitement unfold, the TODAY Show’s Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker will host the three-hour broadcast from 9 a.m. – noon (in all time zones).

INTERACTIVE FUN

A Client's Personal Virtual Office Search Experience...

Looking for a professional virtual office space can be a little overwhelming. Do you even need office space? I meet clients face to face, so that’s not going to happen in my apartment, and the local coffee shop isn’t exactly professional - baristas, coffee and billiards are fine on my down-time; never to meet with my clients. Then it came to me: a virtual office. With services ranging from a receptionist to mail forwarding , meeting room rental , office equipment, and WiFi, it was a no-brainer.

I was not looking for a mailbox service - I needed something more professional. I can get a mailbox at one of those pack and ship places, but I was looking for a place away from my home office to have face to face meetings or even have my team come in for a big meeting. A mailbox service just isn’t going to cut it. Instead, I found an office that fits my needs, and they offer mail forwarding, so it’s a win-win.

Another perk of the first-rate virtual office I chose is that is has private meeting room on site available on a hourly basis. So if you’re renting a small apartment like I am, or simple don't want to mix business with your own personal living space, you can still have several people come to your virtual office without it being uncomfortable. SAINT PATRICK’S DAY PARADE HAS ALMOST 400 MARCHING UNITS FROM U.S., IRELAND, FRANCE

The 257th annual New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade, with more than 100,000 people marching in more than 300 units, steps off Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. at 44th Street and Fifth Avenue and proceeds up Fifth Avenue to 79th Street.

The Grand Marshal is Loretta Brennan Glucksman, co-founder of Glucksman Ireland House at New York University and Chair Emeritus of the American Ireland Fund.

Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Leo Varadkar is expected to march, along with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and other elected officials.

The 2018 New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be dedicated to Catholic Education and the 20th Anniversary of the Good Friday Peace Accords, John Lahey, Chairman of the Parade Board of Directors announced.

Joining Ms. Glucksman will be 13 Aides to the Grand Marshal, selected by the Parade’s participating organizations in recognition of their outstanding service to the Irish-American Community of New York, including Timothy McNiff, PhD, Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of New York.

New York Police Department Chief of Detective Robert Boyce will blow the whistle which officially starts to parade. Following a more than 160-year tradition, the 69th Infantry Regiment of the New York Army National Guard – the “Fighting 69th” – will be the first unit up the street.

Following the Fighting 69th are the Grand Marshal, Aides to the Grand Marshal, the New York Police Department, the New York Fire Department, other city units, members of the Irish Defense Forces and the Garda and marching groups representing the Irish counties, pipe and drum units from across the U.S. and from Ireland, Canada and France and high school and college marching bands from around the nation.

It’s that time of year! The 85th annual lighting of the world famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree!

NBC kicks off the holidays with the lighting of the iconic tree in the heart of New York City with “Christmas in Rockefeller Center®” on Wednesday, Nov. 29 (8-9 p.m. ET/PT). The evening with include festive performances by Brett Eldredge, Jennifer Nettles, Leslie Odom Jr., Pentatonix, Gwen Stefani and The Tenors, with additional acts to be announced. NBC’s “Today” anchors Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker will host the highly anticipated holiday special.

The tradition of the Rockefeller Christmas tree dates back to the Great Depression. First erected in 1933, the inaugural tree was decked with 700 lights and placed in front of the then eight-month-old RCA Building (the current GE Building). The Christmas tree gathering was enhanced in 1936 with the opening of the Rockefeller Plaza outdoor ice-skating pond. NBC-TV televised the tree lighting for the first time in 1951 on “The Kate Smith Show” and as part of the nationwide “Howdy Doody” television show from 1953-55

The 85th annual holiday special will celebrate the lighting of a 75-foot tall, 50-foot wide Norway Spruce from State College, Penn. The tree weighs approximately 13 tons and is approximately 80 years old. It will be adorned with more than 50,000 multi-colored LEDs and will be topped with a stunning Swarovski star made up of 25,000 crystals and one million facets.

NBCUniversal is partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation for the ninth annual “Green Is Universal” holiday campaign by supporting tree-planting efforts to promote recovery in disaster-stricken areas brought on by the 2017 hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. “Christmas in Rockefeller Center®” viewers can go to www.greenisuniversal.com to select a tree image to post online using #ShareATree from Nov 27-Dec. 25 to help in planting 25,000 trees. Each share will contribute to the Arbor Day Foundation’s tree-planting efforts, funded by a $25,000 donation from NBCUniversal.

Depicting Santa’s magical night of travel around the globe on Christmas Eve, we see the famed Toy Shop, his giant bag of gifts and the beloved reindeer pulling the sleigh.

With the debut of this vibrant float based on the hit animated preschool series “Shimmer and Shine,” expect lots of glitter, gems and jewels to bring iconic elements of Zahramay Falls to life with a lively marketplace, floating palace, rainbow waterfall, and of course, Shimmer and Shine on their magic carpet.

This giant bakeshop features an oversized spoon stirring sugar and dough into a mixing bowl that is equivalent in size to a small swimming pool. Fresh from their 2016 Parade debut and last year’s hair-raising, smash-hit, animated film, the happy and colorful “DreamWorks Trolls” trio of Poppy, Branch and Guy Diamond will once again hitch a ride down the Parade route on their Caterbus to kick off the holiday season. Their second Parade appearance isn’t the only treat they have for fans this season, as they will also star in an all-new prime time television special, DreamWorks Trolls Holiday, coming to NBC this Thanksgiving weekend.

Twentieth Century Fox’s iconic holiday film classic, Miracle on 34th Street, brings to life Harold the Baseball Player, a legacy Macy’s character prominently featured in the 1947 movie. The classic, which taught generations to Believe, celebrates its 70th anniversary this year with a special edition Blu-ray and DVD courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, along with the return of the heritage balloon. Harold was recreated for this year’s Parade to look exactly as he did in the black and white movie: hues of black, white and grey and sporting a baseball cap, dressed in a bold striped uniform with a Macy’s star emblazoned on his chest, and holding a catcher’s mitt and ball.

Balloon Dimensions : 30-feet tall, 25-feet wide. Harold’s nose is three-feet long, his eyes are almost two feet tall and his baseball cap is size 207.5.
Fun Fact: Although Harold has had many “balloon” professions including Clown, Fireman and Policeman, he has not been seen as the Baseball Player since the 1946 Parade, which was filmed live for Miracle on 34th Street.

This Thanksgiving, a magical march returns to the streets of New York City and to homes across the U.S. as the 91st Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® kicks-off the holiday season with its signature spectacle of wonder. On Thursday, Nov. 23, the streets of Manhattan will come alive at the sound of “Let’s Have A Parade!” Ready to spread holiday cheer, the annual procession is sure to delight more than 3.5 million spectators and more than 50 million viewers nationwide with its traditional merriment.

“For more than 90 years, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has signaled the start of the holiday season for millions of families. We are thrilled to once again come together as a nation to give this gift of joy and wonder to all,” said Susan Tercero, group vice-president of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She added, “Our incredible team has planned a fantastic spectacle featuring an amazing line-up of giant character balloons, floats of fantasy, the nation’s best marching bands and performance groups, a dazzling array of musical artists, all coming together to herald the arrival of the one-and-only Santa Claus.”

Since the first march in November of 1924, the Macy’s Parade has captivated audiences and become synonymous with the start of the holiday season. For the 91st edition, the line-up will feature 17 giant character balloons; 28 legacy balloons, balloonicles, balloonheads and trycaloons; 26 floats; 1,100 cheerleaders and dancers; more than 1,000 clowns; 12 marching bands and 6 performance groups.

STARS ON PARADE:
On Thanksgiving, to open the 91st march of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a host of stars will be showcased “Dancing in the Streets” at various locations across the country in anticipation of the big Parade and annual kick-off to the holiday season. Featured stars include Harry Connick Jr., Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Harvey, Jane Krakowski, Gaten Matarazzo, Chrissy Metz, John O’Hurley, Martha Stewart and Thalia who will dance and sing in the out of this world kick-off to the pomp and pageantry. As the restyled song unfolds, the show arrives at Herald Square opening atop Macy’s famed red star mark on 34th Street, where a host of groups will join the impromptu party including the Radio City Rockettes®, as well as dancers for The Teen Company and Malloy/CAP21; among other Parade participants.

In addition to the raucous party, international superstar Gwen Stefani will join the festivities for a special performance on the national broadcast of the Parade on NBC. A three-time Grammy® Award winner, Stefani is set to perform “White Christmas,” warming the hearts of audiences nationwide with her rendition of the classic tune.

The star power along the Parade route and in homes from coast-to-coast will once again feature some of the nation’s most riveting performers. Taking to the streets of New York City on board one of Macy’s signature floating stages will be 98 Degrees, Lauren Alaina, Cam, Sabrina Carpenter, Andra Day & Common, Sara Evans, Jimmy Fallon & The Roots, Flo Rida, Goo Goo Dolls, Kat Graham, Andy Grammer, Angelica Hale, Olivia Holt, Nicky Jam, Patti LaBelle, Wyclef Jean, Bravo’s Top Chef stars Padma Lakshmi & Tom Colicchio, Dustin Lynch, Miss America 2018 Cara Mund, Leslie Odom Jr. and the cast & Muppets of Sesame Street, Bebe Rexha, Smokey Robinson, Jojo Siwa and the one-and-only Santa Claus.

FLYING ICONS:
Taking flight on Turkey Day will be the Parade’s signature giant character helium balloons. Since their introduction in 1927, these giants of the sky have featured some of the world’s most beloved characters. This year, four giant characters will debut including Disney Frozen’s Olaf, Illumination presents Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch, PAW Patrol® and Jett from Super Wings™.

The balloon line-up will also feature the return of Harold the Baseball Player, a legacy Macy’s character prominently featured in Twentieth Century Fox’s iconic holiday film classic, Miracle on 34th Street. In celebration of the film’s 70th anniversary, the Harold heritage balloon has been recreated for this year’s Parade, painted in hues of black, white and grey, to look exactly as it did on-screen during a memorable scene in the 1947 film. In addition to Harold, the famed spokesduck, The Aflac Duck, will debut as an all-new balloonicle (a Macy’s Parade innovation of hybrid cold-air balloon and vehicle) and is sure to have fans quacking with joy and laughter down the route.

THE STAGE FOR ENTERTAINMENT:
Floating down the route this Thanksgiving, the Parade’s signature floats transport spectators to worlds of wonder. Designed and created by the incredible artists of Macy’s Parade Studio which include carpenters, painters, animators, sculptors, metal fabricators, scenic/costume designers and electricians, this year’s lineup of floats sets an unparalleled stage for entertainment. The painstaking process of creating a Macy’s Parade float is both a creative and technical endeavor. Macy’s Parade floats are often three stories tall and several lanes of traffic wide, but must collapse to no more than 12 ½-feet tall and 8-feet wide in order to travel safely from the New Jersey home of the Parade Studio, to the Manhattan starting line via the Lincoln Tunnel each Thanksgiving eve. These creations are not only works of art, but also engineering marvels.

This year, five new floats will debut including Everyone’s Favorite Bake Shop by Entenmann’s® (Sara Evans), Harvest in the Valley by Green Giant® (Lauren Alaina), Parade Day Mischief by SOUR PATCH KIDS® Candy (Nicky Jam), Shimmer and Shine by Nickelodeon (Jojo Siwa) and Universal Playground by Sprout® (Angelica Hale). A special float by Delta Air Lines will also debut to commemorate the season of togetherness with the perfect gift of song, as more than 125 Macy’s employees gather to form a one-of-akind cross-generational choir aboard the Macy’s Singing Christmas Tree.

Marching bands are a central piece of the Thanksgiving delights, bringing national excitement and hometown pride to the streets of the Big Apple, not to mention the musical beat to the holiday revelry. Twelve performance ensembles will take up the call of the baton and march down the streets of Manhattan. This year’s bands include Colony High School (Palmer, Alaska), Davis High School (Kaysville, Utah), Rosemount High School (Rosemount, Minnesota), West Harrison High School (Gulfport, Mississippi), Rockford High School (Rockford, Michigan), Ohio University (Athens, Ohio), Nation Ford High School (Fort Mill, South Carolina), Trumbull High School (Trumbull, Connecticut), Prairie View A&M University (Prairie View, Texas), The United States Air Force Band and Honor Guard, Macy’s Great American Marching Band (United States) and the NYPD Marching Band (New York, NY).

Specialty Parade entertainment always promises a unique, exciting, and sometimes humorous look at the nation’s finest performance groups. Returning to the line-up this year are the dancers and cheerleaders of Spirit of America Dance Stars and Spirit of America Cheer. These groups combined feature more than 1,000 of the nation’s very best performers recruited from small towns and big cities. Days before Thanksgiving, they will gather for the first time in NYC, ahead of their once-in-a-lifetime national spotlight. Adding to the dancefloor revelry will be 34th & Phunk, a special group commissioned and produced by Macy’s with organizers from the United States Tournament of Dance. Choreographed by the legendary artist Willdabeast Adams and acclaimed dancer Janelle Ginestra, 34th & Phunk will be a one-of-a-kind hip-hop dance crew featuring performers of all ages and from all walks of life, who have a passion for dance and precision movement. Bringing a Broadway flair to the spectacle will be the talented kids of Camp Broadway, who this year have auditioned and selected dancers/singers from military bases around the nation, and who will pay tribute to America with their performance. Rounding out the performance group list are the zany Red Hot Mamas (Post Falls, Idaho) who will deliver their signature humorous take on the holiday season, along with the whimsical stars of the Big Apple Circus (New York, NY).

A GRAND TELEVISION SPECIAL EVENT:
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the nation’s biggest and most anticipated holiday celebration. Broadcast nationally on NBC, with millions of families nationwide tuning in to watch the excitement unfold, the TODAY Show’s Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker will host the three-hour broadcast from 9 a.m. – noon (in all time zones).
